“Casa Playa Vista” Luxurious 5 Bed 4.5 Ba Home with Amazing Ocean Views & Beach access

experience. Dazzling views of the ocean and rain forest all while listening to the songs of tropical birds, the chattering of monkeys and the crashing waves. An untouched, unspoiled and protected land. {Scratch!} We had arrived a little bit early coming from San Jose and check-in time is after 4pm. They were kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage just inside the door until 4pm. Our first disappointment once we were able to enter was the Casa did not look like it does in the photo tour displayed in the listing. The home has a new dark and dreary color scheme, not the bright vibrant tropical colors displayed in the photo tour. The furnishings were functional but have served their purpose and are far from 5-Star. This was all fine and something you would tend to shrug off and accept. I believe the most dis-heartening thing was that one side of the house had a large 3-story black tarp wall just outside all the glass windows aimed at looking over the rain forest. Also blocking light and views from the master and 2 lower-level rooms. We had discovered this was put in place due to less than 20ft away there was a construction project underway. The Casa had changed ownership since the time we had placed our deposit on the rental. The new owner had decided to build on the lot the home sits. Our beautiful mornings were greeted with the sounds of pounding hammers, power tools and saws. The construction is so close that the dust from the work being done comes over the top of the lovely barricade that was created to ensure that your stay is relaxing and stress free. Once we complained to the property manager of the noise, that was our only complaint we issued. We were entertained with the remarks of the owner. They apologized for the noise and offered the resolution that the world still turns. As well as if it is any consolation, they were staying in a $425 dollar hotel in the area and they are dealing with noise issues as well. Yes, I believe if we had chosen to stay in a hotel with others that would be something we should expect. The construction noise was present from as early as 7am to after 5pm 6 of the 7 days were had rented. Upon the point that the owner one morning could recognize the discontentment on our faces as we ventured out for the day. We were gifted with the possibility of a discount and delivered 3 bottles of wine. The wine was apricated and a kind minor gesture. The discount did not happen and would not have really made anything better. We (well some of us) do not have any ill feelings toward the owners and understand that things move forward. However, I do feel mislead and that the property is not accurately advertised. The construction and a proper picture display needed to be disclosed. This way you can determine if this is something you find acceptable for your vacation. From my estimation, the construction has been going on for months. Check-Out is 9am and again the owners were kind enough to offer some of us a later check-out. I find it hard to offer a 5-star review for this property and am in hopes that someone else does not have their experience altered. This review does not come from lack of experience. This is the 9th vacation rental experience for us. I hope this review offers some constructive criticism and an insight into running a 5-Star accommodation.

3 1/2 stars for the house. Layout of home was not as expected. Also there were centipedes bugs in the home - we had to personally remove Over 30+ removed from lower bedrooms & some seen the bedroom above too. When we expressed our concern about the+ Morebugs, the owner she was very defensive, rude and sent me several Whatsapp texts messages to prove her point that we were in the jungle. This was our 3rd week in Costa Rica so, we are very familiar with the country. Entry bathroom flooded & it was immediately fixed the next day. Also lots of stairs. View from the home is nice. Home is a long distance from town and dirt road to the home is in very poor condition. The building /construction from the expansion to this property is an eye sore but for the most part pretty quite. 5 stars for Andres. We really enjoyed meeting Andres and he was very helpful. 5 stars to chef Mau & 5 stars to Henry the tour guide.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the absolutely beautiful Casa Playa Vista! I’m so glad we got to stay there before they began renting the house they built right next door. Andres was a wonderful help in organizing excursions (and special+ Moreshout-out to Henry, our amazing tour guide to Manuel Antonio and Rainmaker waterfalls). Advice to guests: bring lots of cash if you plan to do tours. We didn’t know that we would need to pay for most tours in cash until after we began our travels and so we spent a lot of time trying to find ATMs in the area that would accept our cards. We also feel like next time we would rent a car. We managed to get by asking our tour or taxi drivers to stop at grocery stores or ATMs and paying them extra but often wished we had a car. The house has pretty much everything you need (soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, Kleenex, paper towels, beach towels, etc.) and there were several pantry staples (probably left by previous guests). The house is spacious and very comfortable. The setting with the little beach down the hill is truly extraordinary. All in all, an unforgettable family vacation!

This place is amazing. The views from the patios are breathtaking. The house is tastefully decorated and the layout is perfect. The beach area is secluded and pretty much had it all to ourselves during our stay. It’s an easy trip to town or an+ Moreeasy trip to Manuel Antonio. The host was great! He was very responsive. I recommend getting the chef to cook a couple meals. He brought an atmosphere that was relaxing and the food was some of the best I’ve had. The maid comes every couple of days and is not intrusive what do ever. This has to be my favorite vacation spot hands down.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Casa Playa Vista near Manuel Antonio . We loved walking down the hill to the beach and enjoyed exploring the rocks at low tide for sea creatures. We loved the private location. Andres was ver helpful with resources+ Moreand tours. The chef provided fabulous meals. We would choose this property again.

Wonderful stay! Thank you to Katia and Andres for a memorable vacation at the lovely Casa Playa Vista. Even though the owner Katia is building a home next door, we were not bothered at all by the workers as Katia respected the time we were at the+ Morehouse so we could enjoy every moment of peace . What a view! Great for birdwatching and just relaxing on the big terrase and in the infinite pool. A great house to spend quality time with you family or friends. A short walk down hill with your beach shoes and we would float for ours in this quiet cove. The location is great to visit the wonderful Manuel Antonio National park. Hire a guide otherwise you miss out on all the animals high up in the trees. Make sure you have a 4 wheel drive to access the house, the road is an adventure but not too long. Make sure you go have a meal at Ronnie`s place just 2 minutes away. We surely will return and I recommend this place to enjoy beautiful Costa Rica! La PURA VIDA

Casa Playa Vista fell short of a 5-Star luxury accommodation. As a family we had booked this home months in advance and were most excited for what it claimed to offer. Overall the home and location are very nice but the current photos do not reflect the changes caused by the construction nextdoor. The new owners are building another house just feet away and that has impacted the views from the home. Most+ Moresignificantly, there is now no view from the Iguana Bedroom except of a black construction barrier. Also, the new owners are in the process of changing the decor so what is there is a bit worn and many of the tropical accents have been removed. This was all unexpected and quite disappointing as we relied on the published photos. In spite of these issues, we enjoyed our stay. We recommend a dinner or two prepared by Chef Mau in the home. It was delicious and so relaxing to have the meals taken care of. Walking to the beach below is worth the somewhat challenging trek down and back up. Try to go at low tide for maximum exploring and wear surf shoes. Our favorite time was early morning on the deck listening to the jungle below wake up.

Had a lovely stay at this gorgeous home tucked away in a very secluded but accessible part of Manuel Antonio. The service from Andres, the private chef and the owners were second to none and made our trip incredibly special. I would highly recommend+ Morestaying here and only complaint would be some of the doors downstairs look to need some repair to work seamlessly as the one goin to the outside bedroom was not operating well. This was the most memorable vacation. The house was perfect. We stayed two weeks. The first week was our family (13 people), the second week they flew home and our friends flew in (10 People). This house accommodated a lot of people, and was so+ Morespacious that at no time did we feel cramped. The infinity pool was the bomb, and we took the most amazing sunset pictures there. The house location was perfect. A great restaurant called Ronny's Place was right up the hill. Our Concierge Raul booked our excursions thru Amigos Del Rio which was at the end of the road the house is on. I can't say enough about Raul. I was a little stressed about planning a vacation & all the traveling for a total of 23 people, but Raul made it effortless. He handled everything. My husband & I have travelled the world and Raul is by far the best Concierge ever. Back to the house. Every morning the Iguanas greeted us on the main deck. The master suite had the biggest deck and was perfect for sunning after a dip in the pool. My friends that stayed in the waterfall suite thought it was beautiful & perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance & dish we needed. And, speaking of the kitchen, Raul helped us schedule Chef Javier 1 night each week. The most amazing experience and food. I could go on and on about this house, but you just have to experience it yourself. PURA VIDA

We had a phenomenal time in Costa Rica. The views from the house are incredible. The beach at the end of the 11 minute walk was absolutely beautiful. We highly enjoyed our stay. Everybody made it so easy to get everything arranged. Thank you to+ MoreRaul and Andres for taking care of everything. We had the ordered groceries waiting for us when we arrived. That was such a bonus! To not have to go grocery shopping was a wait lifted off of our shoulders. I had ordered Hamburg to make burgers when we arrived the first night, they were frozen. Andres had somebody go to the grocery store for us and get hamburger patties that were a quick, delicious dinner from the gas grill. Everybody was very accommodating, the maid came in 4 times during the week and even did our laundry for us. The Jungle Buggy was a GREAT tour, highly recommend tour guide Rigo. He has a two level Jeep that was so fun to ride in, took us to a suspension bridge and a hike down to a waterfall, along the way stopping to grab tree leaves for us to smell and learn more about the country. After the hike we stopped for an amazingly delicious traditional Costa Rican lunch of grilled pork, chicken, rice, beans, plantains and pineapple. We loved that all the tours we went on, that they came to pick us up at the house. We also had Chef Paige cook us 4 dinners that were delicious. We spent a day at Manuel Antonio National Park which is a MUST to see sloths, monkeys, iguanas, etc. We watched every morning at the house toucans flying from tree to tree. Ronnie’s restaurant up the road had a phenomenal sunset view. We ate the most incredible pineapple all week, and really miss that! The only complaint was that we wished we were there for longer!

The home was great. The road to get to the home was vary rough, some taxis struggled to get us to the house. The private beach is not private, at least 25 groups of local groups have keys to the gate and another 25 just jumped the fence. My 26+ Moreyear old daughter was robed be a man and his wife armed and threatening her with machetes. Scariest moment of her and our lives. The police next came. We had to go to the police station the next day to make a report. Security at the house, on the beach and around town is a major concern. Most peddling thrift they tell us but machetes amount to more than that to us.
